Arco was founded in 1987 by Luc Van Raemdonck and specializes in the development, renewal, installation, and maintenance of industrial cooling and freezing systems. Vos Technics, founded in 1986, is known in the industry as an innovative player, pioneering the use of natural refrigerants such as ammonia, propane, and CO₂ since 2001 as alternatives to traditional greenhouse gas-based systems. Today, the second generation—brothers Maarten and Kristof Onckelinx—leads the company.
Climate Pioneers is the Belgian group born from the strategic partnership between Arco and Vos Technics. By joining forces, the sister companies have become one of the largest players in industrial cooling in Belgium. With over 150 employees and deep technical expertise, the group focuses on innovative solutions that combine energy efficiency with ecological responsibility.
With locations in Lokeren, Geel, Herk-De-Stad, and Charleroi, Climate Pioneers designs, installs, and maintains cooling and freezing systems, supermarket installations, air conditioning, heat pumps, and air handling systems.
With the arrival of Sofindev, we found a partner that provides strategic and financial support and ensures continuity. In addition, Sofindev has shown respect for the corporate culture of Arco, and by extension, of Climate Pioneers. This was evident from the very first meeting.

The collaboration between Arco and Vos Technics reinforces both companies’ positions in the industrial cooling sector, making them one of the largest players in Belgium. This means the group gains greater clout and takes an important step in its growth journey. Further strategic acquisitions of complementary companies are not excluded.
