Abelag
Luxaviation Belgium, originally founded as Abelag in 1964, is the market leader in taxi, business, and medical flights in the Benelux. Operating from Brussels, Wevelgem, and Antwerp, it also offers FBO services and certified technical maintenance. In 2007, Abelag entered into a strategic partnership with Sofindev to strengthen its position, evolving into a European player. This collaboration laid the foundation for its successful integration into the Luxaviation Group in 2013.
Sofindev supported us in the further development of our company by providing the right expertise, while fully respecting Abelag’s entrepreneurial spirit.
Syx Automations
Syx Automations, founded in 1990, is the market leader in software solutions for the sports, culture, and leisure sectors in the Benelux. Through its ReCreateX® platform, the company supports museums, sports centers, and amusement parks with ticketing, access control, and facility management. The group also provides IT infrastructure and card production services via Syx Graphics.
In 2013, the Syx family entered into a partnership with Sofindev to strengthen the organization and accelerate growth. Together, they professionalized the company’s structure and expanded the management team. This collaboration led to a successful transition in 2017: Syx Automations became part of the Gantner Group, and later of Salto Systems.
Sofindev has been instrumental in helping us strengthen our internal organization and further professionalize our company, which enabled us to reinforce our leadership position in leisure sector software.
i3 Group
i3 Group is an international provider of technology and equipment for interactive learning and working environments. Under the leadership of Gert Van Erum, the group evolved into an innovative platform with three divisions: i3 Solutions, i3 VCP, and i3 Technologies.
In partnership with Sofindev since 2012, the organization was strengthened and prepared for international expansion. This collaboration led to a successful transition in 2017, when Gert Van Erum once again became the sole shareholder of the group.
Microtherm
Microtherm has been active for over 40 years in the production of high-quality thermal insulation materials based on microporous silica. As a manufacturer of a broad range of products—often custom-made—Microtherm Engineered Solutions delivers tailored solutions to its customers.
With operations in Belgium, Japan, and the United States, and more than 200 employees, Microtherm built a strong international presence. In 2010, Microtherm was acquired by Promat International, a specialist in passive fire protection and high-temperature insulation, part of the Etex Group.
