To support the next phase of growth, the Mariën-Bouwens family was looking for a complementary partner with clear added value, which they found in Sofindev. In 2019, Sofindev acquired a significant stake in Mabo Group (then still Mabo-Lifting) with the aim of supporting the company’s continued expansion.

In September 2019, the Dutch company Mabo-Lifting Nederland was acquired, and the sister company Mabo E&A was also integrated into the group. This marked the beginning of a broader growth trajectory supported by Sofindev’s strategic expertise and investment capabilities.
